QUETTA: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has donated a biochemical test machine to the Children Hospital Quetta. The value of the machine is said to be around Rs70 million.
The machine will be used for conducting many costly tests, including tests of urea, carotene, cholesterol, uric acid, triglyceride and calcium. The tests will be conducted free of cost. Usually the cost of such tests is Rs2,000.
Speaking at a function here, head of UNHCR Quetta Zeefnaya Amiori said that the UN agency had been providing quality health services to the people in Balochistan. The UNHCR is also providing assistance to Pakistan in dealing with the Covid-19 situation.
