Lahore: The coronavirus claimed lives of five more patients, while 152 others got infected by it across the province during the last 24 hours.

The total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Punjab has reached 126, while that of confirmed cases 7,646 on Monday, as per official data.

Of the five deaths, one each was reported from Lahore, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Norowal and Hafizabad.

The provincial capital has recorded the highest number of deaths, 58, so far, followed by 21 in Rawalpindi and 16 in Multan.

Of the new confirmed cases, 56 were reported in Lahore, where the total number has reached 2,532.

As many as 25 more patients of Covid-19 turned critical in Punjab’s various teaching hospitals.

Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid chaired a meeting to review the data of patients in various Intensive Care Units in the province on Monday.

The heads of teaching hospitals and other healthcare institutions who attended the meeting presented their reports and data in the meeting.

They said that the patients with co-morbidities have been shifted to ICUs and all out efforts were being made for their recovery.
