MIRAMSHAH: A man was killed and two others suffered injuries when firing broke out during a volleyball match in the Mirali subdivision of North Waziristan district on Monday.

Police sources said that a volleyball match was in the progress in the Haiderkhel village of Mirali when a man resorted to firing in the air.

The firing led to an exchange of harsh words between the gunman and others present on the occasion.

Later, the gunman, who was infuriated by arguments with the locals, opened fire at the crowd.

As a result, a man was killed and two others were injured.

The slain man was identified as Javed Anwar, while the injured included Atta Mohammad and Afnan. The dead and the injured men were shifted to a local hospital.

The police registered a case.
