ISLAMABAD: The Planning Commission has directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to set up Project Management Unit (PMU) for monitoring of the consultant’s work who will be hired to revise the master plan of Islamabad.
The federal cabinet had formed a commission of experts in December 2018 to carry out the revision of the master plan.
But the commission took more interest in making new bylaws and left the revision of the master plan to the yet to be hired consultant firm.
In November last year, the cabinet directed the CDA to hire the consultant after getting the terms and conditions vetted from the Planning Commission.
Sources said a meeting chaired by Planning Minister Asad Umar on April 20 was briefed by officials that after a final round of meeting between CDA and the Planning Commission the consultant will be hired soon.
On the proposal of the deputy chairman Planning Commission, the minister directed the CDA to set up PMU for monitoring of the consultant’s work.
