KHAIRPUR, Sept 5: The candidate of the Khairpur Dost panel for the post of district nazim, Pir Niaz Hussain Jilani, has claimed that more than 75 per cent of councillors are with the group. Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, he said the KDP nazims would be elected in eight talukas of the district.

He said his priorities would be to maintain law and order, improve health and education departments in the district.

He said he would work to empower union councils and make them effective as all development works would be carried out through UC nazims.

He said the opposition would be given due importance while he would welcome all positive criticism.

He said in taluka headquarters complaint centres would be established so the district headquarter might remain aware about public complaints.

He said the people would be given relief in their respective talukas and they would not need to travel to Khairpur.

On the occasion, Habib Rajpar defected the PPP and joined the PML-F along with his friends.

He was candidate of the ADP for taluka nazim post from Faiz Ganj taluka in the local body elections 2001.
