SARGODH: A poor woman died at the district headquarters hospital here on Monday after she passed out at the local office of National Database and Registrations Authority (Nadra) where she went for verification of her fingerprints to get financial aid under the Ehsas Kafalat Programme.

According to hospital sources, Sahib Bibi, fainted while she was standing in a long queue at the Nadra office, waiting for her turn to get her fingerprints verified.

She was shifted to the DHQ Hospital unconscious, where she died.

Hundreds of deserving people, mostly elderly citizens, have to stand in long queues four hours at the local Nadra office daily, waiting for their turn to get their fingerprints verified so that they could get the financial aid announced by the government.

Sadly, there is neither any seating arrangement, nor any tent installed to provide shade to these poor people at the Nadra office. Thus it becomes hard for these people, especially the elderly ones, to wait for their turn for hours in the open.
