TAXILA: As many as 28 coronavirus patients recovered in the Attock district.

According to district focal person for Covid-19 Dr Asif Arbab Niazi, screening of 4,215 suspected patients was carried out and 55 of them were found infected with the virus while results of 308 were awaited.

He said seven positive patients were under treatment at various health centres while 17 others were isolated at quarantine centres, including four in Attock city and eight in Fatehjang.

On the other hand, the health authorities in Taxila said 15 coronavirus patients had recovered.

Among them, nine were admitted at Pakistan Ordnance Factories Hospital Wah, five at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and one isolated at home. Three people, including two minors, tested positive in Taxila on Friday raising the number to 46.

The new cases also include a woman whose husband had tested positive on May 3. The man was shifted to Pims while his wife is admitted at Wah General Hospital. The other patients were home quarantined. Moreover, a physiotherapist was shifted to an isolation facility of a hospital after he developed symptoms of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the corona task force carried out disinfection spray in 70 markets, commercial areas, bazaars and shopping centres in Taxila and Wah.

Tehsil Health Inspector Mohammad Ijaz said houses of positive patients and adjacent streets were also disinfected in Asifabad, Garhi Sikendar, Saadat Colony, Kashmir Colony, Officer Colony, Thatta Khalil road, Lalarukh, THQ Hospital Colony, Wah General Hospital Colony and all major mosques.
