KOHAT: The staff and patients at the quarantine ward of hospital here have complained about unhygienic conditions, saying the ward remains littered with used clothes, kits and quilts.

The clothes,bed sheets, quilts and kits needed to be burnt in the incineratorevery day so they might not infect the staff.

During last one week, more than six medical staff members had tested positive for coronavirus due to the poor hygiene.

Sources also said that decomposed food could be seen lying on the tables for days while the floor had not been cleaned. Two bathrooms were nonfunctional and others in bad shape, which required daily wash.

POLICE ACTION SLAMMED: Traders here on Saturday assailed the police action for closing their shops following government’s announcement of easing the lockdown from May 9.

Tajir action committee president Abid Khan said they opened their shops in the morning and after sometime police teams entered bazaars and forcibly pulled down shutters of their shops, saying lockdown should be observed on Saturdays.

Meanwhile, CM’s adviser MPA Ziaullah Bangash said that though the lockdown had been eased, the people should avoid going to bazaars for Eid shopping as Covid-19 threat was not over yet.

In a statement, he said some businessmen were opening half of their shops and allowing buyers, which was immoral and illegal.

KILLED: A man was killed allegedly over old enmity in Lachi Bala on Saturday.

Police said the victim, Ishfaq, was killed in a clash during a cricket match. The victim’s father, Subedar Masud Gul, has nominated Saudur Rehman and Musawarur Rehman in the FIR.
