Where has our common sense gone? For Heaven's sake tomorrow is not Eid. Why cant we as a nation be more organized and law-abiding? In shopping more important than safety of lives?!

Sad. We need common people told what he/she can do. This is where government comes and people follow the medical folks. The government is clueless. The affected people are the regular folks.

Now people should not blame Govt. nor Govt. should seek relief funds from world.

I am sure these are the "poor daily wage workers" who have come out for shopping!!! This shows the level of present Government's knowledge of its people. In 50 days other than worrying about how the poor will make ends meet, couldn't the Government work out on how to support them. Other than funds through Ehsas, the remaining amount from 1.2 trillion would not go to the common man.

The government eased lockdown to support poor daily wagers while looking at the pictures it seems the lockdown was eased so that people can straight away go to the markets to give money to the shopkeepers waiting desperately to earn. What a nation we are.

Hats off to our government, federal and provincial both. The only places where SOPs can work to an extent in a illiterate country as ours are malls and factories where their management/ owners can influence and implement some sort of preventive measures, but the brainless government is keeping them closed and has opened the unregulated markets, what a shame,,

i went out yesterday to buy some cloths for eid in commercial market rawalpindi. It was very crowded but i did witnessed some brands were following government's guidelines. Bonanza was 1 of those store with strict measures to prevent spread of virus while shopping. But at the same time there were some big stores with no regards for public health or governments guidelines. Khaadi was the worst store in rawalpindi. More then 100 people were in store at once and there was not enough space to stand inside store and keep the distance. It was so bad that i had to leave the store without buying anything. I wanted to record everything and report to authorities but i forgot my mobile at home so couldn't do it. I wish people come forward and report this kind of behaviour to authorities.

When the government don’t take it seriously this is what happens. On the other hand there are very limited options.

It should be stopped to save people lives otherwise it will cross more than 50,000 before eid if it will not be stopped. As all know how educated our population is so its not a good decision

What i have seen is horrible. Women, children, elderly people all around the shops and markets flocking in. 80% of them without masks and not observing social distancing. I am scared if things are left unchecked a large number will get infected. There should be some restriction while entering a particular place in the market and not all should be allowed to enter markets . There should be barriers so the markets do not get crowded and those not following sop should not be allowed. This is the job of government and traders associations.

Our people r illiterate they dont know about there safety this situation is too bad for there health and for other people SOPS are not follow government should take action against this situation otherwise, atlast for any mishap they will blame to government they only know the language of danda.

Pakistanis are hardy lot. Coronavirus cant do anything to them. It’s an elite disease for the elite countries.

The graph of Pakistan is on the max level these days and is expected to come down towards erasing covid cases. But it seems that Eid shopping will take it towards uncontrollable like Russia these days.

The country cannot handle the explosion of cases this ignorant behavior will bring. I cannot even begin to imagine.

@bhaRAT©, This is not a case to compare with neighbouring countries' response to a likely situation. Even in neighbouring country when liquor shops were opened the discipline was thrown out of window warranting of closing the same once again. Will Pakistan close all the shops again? This is the point to be highlighted than comparing the no. of cases with any other country or response of any other country to a given situation.

Our infrastructure is not designed in such a required way dear, how we are expecting this social distancing, and precautionary measure to be taken.

@AA, Since when has our government been clued-in..our public needs to be 99.9 % educated to be able to understand anything in depth. So our first job is to achieve mass education and literacy and then expect any understanding of laws and rules.

It is about education and civic education that we lack in our system. People don’t bring these attitude when they born or learn by themselves. One of main purpose of government is to organize society - through education and implementation of Law and rules. Moreover, our own government officials don’t follow the rules and law then expect from masses to follow. Example, governor Sindh two weeks ago visited various places with so many officials and protocols and in result he got infected.

After being locked up for so long this was bound to happen. However this cannot last for long as people will realize that shopping for luxuries is not a necessity any more give pressures on incomes. Give it a few days for the people to take out their frustration of being locked and the footfall at shops will gradually decrease.

Looks like these people love new cloths more than their life. While their eyes are open, they will go towards the sparlking things. Even if they were educated, there is no garantee that they would be more disaplined. Because they love sparkling things.

This was obviously on the cards. It looks EID SHOPPING has started. If only a minute part of it is collected or contributed for the poor a big difference can be made.

It's really sad to see people gathered in shopping malls and roads crowded with traffic, many without mask and safety precautions. Everyone seems to be more concerned about the daily events rather than the safety of your life's and life's around you.. People it's time to be Humans!!

We have the same problem in some parts of the USA. This virus is a serious killer. It is taking down old and people with heart, kidney, liver disease and dibetes.

Why on the media they keep repeating that people not wearing mask that's total ignorance and misguidance. I didn't hear media saying people not enforcing physical distancing of 1.5 meter between 2 people. Number of people on a particular street and shop as per spacing should be controlled, that's what SOP should all about. Without educating the public about mask, people keep wearing a dust or cloth mask which can make people more sick rather than a prevention. All such fake mask should be confiscated from people selling it on the street.
