HYDERABAD: Anjuman-i-Imamia Sindh, which has organised a mourning procession in Hyderabad for Friday to commemorate Yaum-i-Ali (RA), said that it was granted permission to take out the procession on condition that the number of participants would be restricted to 175, the route would be adopted different from the traditional one and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) laid down by the Sindh government for the control of coronavirus spread would be strictly followed.

Speaking to Dawn on Thursday evening, the organisation president Syed Sajid Hussain Shah said it was decided at a meeting of the Anjuman’s office-bearers with the district administration that 175 volunteers and mourners including representatives of over 40 participating organisations would be issued passes to take part in the procession.

It was also decided that the procession would set off at 3:30pm from Karbala Dadan Shah and culminate at 5:30pm at Qadamgah Maula Ali.

He said it would pass through Station Roadi instead of its traditional route of Bohri Bazaar, Lachpat Road and back to Station Road to reach Qadamgah Maula Ali.
