BAHAWALPUR: The Bahawalpur division has not only achieved the wheat procurement target of 853,269 metric tons but has also bought 4,517 metric tons additional grain.

Commissioner Asif Iqbal Chaudhry says by exceeding the wheat target, the Bahawalpur division has secured top position in the province.

Punjab Zakat and Ushr Secretary Alamgir Ahmed Khan who was here on Wednesday to review measures taken by the local administration to fight Covid-19, locust, dengue and wheat procurement, had also congratulated the commissioner.

CORONA TIGERS: As many as 20,319 corona tigers have so far been registered in the district.

This was stated by DC Shozeb Saeed at a meeting here on Thursday.

He informed the meeting comprising PTI office-bearers that out of 20,319 volunteers, contacts with over 5,000 have been established. He said the force would be deployed in mosques, hospitals, bazaars, mega stores and markets to implement the SOPs in wake of coronavirus pandemic.
