RAWALPINDI: A total of 34 senators and MNAs who were in Islamabad for the last four days to attend special parliamentary sessions were flown back to Quetta and Karachi on a special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight on Thursday.

Pakistan International Airlines operated a special Airbus A320 PK-8352 on Monday carrying parliamentarians from Karachi to Quetta.

The flight had 55 passengers and eight crew members on board.

The flight landed at Islamabad International Airport.

After attending the assembly session, parliamentarians left for their hometowns on board special flight PK-8463 on Thursday.

The flight left for Quetta at 3:10pm and after dropping Senator Mir Kabir Ahmed, MNA Asmatullah, MNA Naseebullah Bazai, Senator Abida Mohammad Azeem, Senator Mohammad Azeem and Senator Sama Jami left for Karachi.

Among those who flew back to Karachi were federal minister Farough Nasim, MNA Shazia Marri, Senator Sherry Rehman, MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA Abdul Qadir Patel and Mir Amir Ali Magsi among others.

All the passengers and crew were checked at health staff using thermal scanners at Islamabad International Airport, but no suspected Covid-19 case was detected.
