SWABI: Officials of the Food Safety and Halal Food Authority here on Friday sealed a factory and bakery for producing fake soft drinks and substandard food items.

An official said that the factory owner was fined and over 2,500 litres of beverages were seized. The factory located in Karnal Sher Khan Kallay was sealed.

The food authority officials also sealed a bakery located in Chota Lahor tehsil and seized 400 kilogrammes of substandard food items. They said that a few days ago the Chota Lahor police had arrested two persons who were shifting fake beverages in a van to parts of the district.

They said that the food authority had sought the help of the district administration to raid the two identified spots.

ARRESTED: Police arrested three proclaimed offenders here on Friday.

City police SHO Farooq Khan said that Amjid Khan and his brother Tufail Khan, who had allegedly killed their relative, were arrested from Maneri region.

Another offender identified as Asad Khan of Maneri village was arrested from the house of one of their relatives.

Meanwhile, Kalu Khan police arrested a man for his alleged involvement in motorcycle theft cases.

SHO Mohammad Fayyaz claimed that the man identified as Muqarab Khan had admitted to his crime during investigation. A case has been registered against him.
