CHARSADDA: A man and his son were killed by rivals over old enmity in Chorakhel area in the jurisdiction of Battagram police station here on Tuesday.

Wife of deceased Abdullah told Battagram police that Abdullah and her father-in-law Hazart Sher were sitting in their home when the rivals Ghafar Ali, Hussain Ali, Sabihullah, Sher Mohammad and three other suspects entered into their house and opened indiscriminate firing on them.

As a result, both Abdullah and his father were killed on the spot. The bodies were taken to the tehsil headquarter hospital for the postmortem. The police said the motive behind the killing was old enmity. The Battagram police lodged an FIR.

Meanwhile, a driver was killed and two others were injured when a van collided with a tractor trolley at Mir Syed Kallay of Tangi tehsil here on Tuesday.

Jawad, driver of the van and resident of Jabba Korona, died in the accident that occurred in Umarzai police area. Asghar and Ayaz of Amirabad were injured who were taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Tangi.

The police lodged an FIR and have started investigation.
