MANSEHRA: Six people, including two brothers, were killed in two road accidents in Mansehra and Lower Kohistan districts on Wednesday.
Three people were killed when a pickup van plunged into Kunhar River near Garhi Habibullah.
The vehicle loaded with goods was on way to Muzafarabad (Azad Kashmir) from Mansehra. The driver lost control over the steering due to over-speeding.
The locals fished out the bodies and shifted them to the civil hospital, Garhi Habibullah.
The deceased were identified as Mohsin Khan, Raja Faisal and Mohammad Safeer, all residents of Mansehra city.
The Garhi Habibullah police lodged FIR.
Meanwhile, three people, including two brothers, were killed when a mini truck carrying fruit and vegetables skidded of the road and plunged into Indus River in Karosan Panizal area of Lower Kohistan.
“The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital,” Mohammad Mumtaz, an official of Lower Kohistan police control room, told reporters. The truck was on way to Gilgit-Baltistan from Rawalpindi, when the driver while negotiating a sharp turn lost control over the steering.
The police official said two of the dead were identified as Mir Ali of Abbottabad and Attaullah of Chilas, whose brother’s name could not be ascertained.
The police registered FIR of the incident.
