LAKKI MARWAT: The district administration here on Thursday launched action against transporters who had been indulging in overcharging commuters.
Following public complaints, additional assistant commissioner Aminullah Khan checked implementation of the official fare list by transporters. During checking on Bannu-DI Khan road the passengers travelling in public transport complained that the drivers had received high fares from them.
They told the official that the drivers were reluctant to follow the fare list released by the local administration after reduction in oil prices.
Taking action, the administration official collected an additional amount of Rs20,000 from the drivers and returned the same to commuters on the spot.
The additional assistant commissioner along with volunteers of civil defence also distributed masks among citizens and then visited grain markets as part of efforts to stop smuggling of wheat to other districts.
RESULTS ANNOUNCED: The University of Lakki Marwat announced the results of Master’s programme examinations (private candidates) 2019 on Thursday.
None of the 17 candidates could qualify the MA English examinations and as such the pass percentage remained zero.In MA Urdu, 17 of 46 students qualified the examinations.
Only five of 20 candidates passed MA Economics exams, four of 21 MA Pashto exams, two of six students MA International Relations, five of 19 MA History, 11 of 39 MA Political Science, 13 of 19 candidates MA Arabic and 148 of 232 candidates could pass the MA Islamiyat examinations.
