SWABI: Seven people were killed and several others injured in different incidents here on Saturday.
Two persons were killed when their motorcyclists collided near Swabi interchange of Islamabad-Peshawar motorway while another person was seriously injured who was taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex and later referred to the Lady Ready Hospital, Peshawar.
SHO Shafiq Khan told this correspondent that Jawad Khan, one of the two victims, hailed from Chota Lahor city, while body of the second one had been placed in Chota Lahor hospital for identification. He said that the collision was so severe that the two motorcycles were completely damaged.
In Yar Hussain village, Bilal Khan died on the spot and his father, Bakht Zamin, succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital after their rivals opened fire on them over a land dispute.
Imran Ali, Mr Zamin’s brother, has registered an FIR in Yar Hussain police station against Fazal Ghaffar and Abdul Zahir.
In Pontya village, a man shot dead his uncle when he clashed with him over cutting of grass for animals.
When contacted, SHO Topi police Niaz Ali Khan said that Tanveer Khan had warned his uncle not to cut grass from the piece of land. Son of the deceased has registered an FIR against Tanveer in Topi police station.
In Chota Lahor, Aman Sher was killed when Fida Mohammad and Akhtar Jehan allegedly opened fire on him.
Meanwhile, an orphan Afghan girl was killed and seven others were injured in a road mishap on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway near Rashakai Interchange on Saturday.
An Afghan driver, Pazir Gul, was taking the seven orphan Afghan girls for receiving financial help and when they reached near Rashakai interchange he failed to control the vehicle and hit the footpath.
As a result, Maryam Gul, 7, was killed on the spot, while the other girls and driver were injured. They were taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.
