Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Sardar Dur Mohammad Nasar. — BAP handout

QUETTA: Sardar Dur Mohammad Nasar, senior vice president of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and former adviser to the chief minister on industries, died of coronavirus in a private hospital on Monday.

After contracting Covid-19 earlier this month, he had isolated himself at his residence in Duki. However, he was shifted to Karachi after his condition deteriorated.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Mr Nasar.

In a condolence message, Mr Alyani said Mr Nasar was a senior politician and a very sophisticated personality who had played an important role in the politics of Balochistan.

Balochistan Governor retired Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai in a statement paid tribute to Mr Nasar, saying that he had played a significant role in the development of the province. Former governor of Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi, Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir Abdul Qudus Bizenjo, Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Musakhel, Minister for Education Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, leaders of BAP and some members of the parliament also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Mr Nasar.
