MIRAMSHAH: Two security personnel were martyred and four others suffered injuries in a blast near Miramshah in North Waziristan tribal district on Wednesday.

Officials said the army’s bomb disposal squad was patrolling the area when a remote-controlled device exploded near their vehicle in the Tapai area, some 15km east of Miramshah, the district headquarters. Two personnel embraced martyrdom, while their four colleagues sustained injuries.

Security forces cordoned off the area after the incident and conducted a search operation. The injured soldiers were taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu. They were identified as Shabir, Imran, Naeem and Naveed Alam.
