‘Sindh govt playing pivotal role in promotion of sports’

KARACHI: Pakistan American Culture Centre President Makhdoom Riaz Hussain has said that Sindh government is playing a pivotal role in promoting sports including basketball across the province on priority basis.

He was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of Pakistan Day SSB Cup Basketball Cup at PACC Auditorium. The event was organised by Pakistan Sports Welfare Association in collaboration with Karachi Basketball Association. On the occasion, the SOPs prepared by the Sindh Govt were followed in strict sense of the word.

Later he gave away trophies and individual cash awards to teams captain and players.

He was all praise for Sports Advisor to CM, Bangal Khan Mehr and Secretary Sports Imtiaz Ali Shah for acting upon CM’s advice to give top priority to sports activities in the province.

Hamza Parwani got the best player award while Usman Khawaja was given best scorer’s award of the event.

The best defense player award went to Hassan Iqbal while Ayan Ali and Daniyal Khan were given best forward and rookies of he tournament award respectively.

KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan, prominent educationist Asma Kausar, Shehzad Kazi of Sports for Life, Ebad Ali Khan, and Youth Committee Malir president Faizan Hussain also addressed the function and paid tributes to Sindh government for their dedication to sports activities across the province.
