SWABI: Three coronavirus patients died in the Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shahmansoor here on Sunday, deputy commissioner Shahid Mehmood said.
He said Shamsul Irfan, 50, who was on oxygen in the intensive care unit, passed away.
He was also suffering from various health complications, he added.
Gul Amin, another Covid-19 patient, who also expired in Bacha Khan Hospital, was admitted to the isolation ward soon after his coronavirus test was declared positive by the National Health Institute Islamabad.
He was 60 and hailed from Maneri Bala village of the district.
The third victim was identified as Liaqat Khan, belonging to Nabi village of Chota Lahor. He was admitted to the ICU a few days ago.
DC Mehmood said it was the first time since the coronavirus outbreak that three people had died in a single day.
Health officials said the number of coronavirus patients was steadily increasing in the district because the people were not observing SOPs.
They said the doctors were persistently advising them to observe social distancing and confine themselves to homes.
