PML-N leader Khawaja Asif criticised the federal government for its Covid-19 response, saying that they assumed that "corona would come and go".
Addressing the National Assembly, he said: "There was no concrete planning. Asad Umar says that by the end of July we will have 1.2 million cases. Why? Why will we have 1.2 million cases?"
Saying that the government failed to address the pandemic with concrete measures, he added: "You've left doctors, nurses alone by telling them to go fight the 'jihad' alone."
He also challenged the Umar to "keep his hand on his heart and swear that we didn't have the opportunity to stop the spread in the last three months".
