Deputy Commissioner (DC) Larkana Nouman Siddique will impose a complete lockdown in the district, from June 20 to June 29, amid rising Covid-19 cases, according to a notification issued by the DC's office.

"In the wake of rapid increase in transmission of Covid-19 and on the recommendation of District Health Officer Larkano, I [Nouman Siddique] hereby impose complete lockdown within the Municipal limits of Larkano for a period of 10 days, with effect from June 20 12am to June 29 12pm," the notification reads.

During the lockdown, all shops, markets, hotels, restaurants and public transport will remain closed, it said.

Essential services, including pharmacies, grocery and utility stores, will remain open.
