ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran Rahim Hayat Qureshi on Wednesday presented his credentials to Iranian President Dr Hassan Rouhani in Tehran.

Welcoming Ambassador Qureshi, President Rouhani underscored cultural, religious and historical affinities between the two brotherly countries, Pakistan’s Embassy in Tehran stated in a press release.

President Rouhani expressed satisfaction over bilateral cooperation in all fields and emphasised on further promoting trade and economic ties between Pakistan and Iran.

He recalled Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visits to Tehran and expressed the hope that both countries would effectively pursue decisions taken by their political leadership.

Conveying warm greetings from the president and prime minister of Pakistan, Ambassador Qureshi said that Pakistan and Iran had always been forthcoming in extending diplomatic and political support to each other. Pakistan appreciates Iran’s support for the cause of Kashmir, he added.
