KARACHI Veteran journalist Abu Talib Nizami, better known as A.T. Nizami, passed away, his family and friends said on Saturday.
He was 88.
“He tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago and was in self-isolation at home but his health deteriorated and he died on June 25,” said his wife Nuzhat Nizami. He was buried at the Tariq Road graveyard off Shaheed-e-Millat Road. Mr Nizami worked for several newspapers at senior positions including Dawn Media Group’s daily Hurriyat as its city editor.
After retirement, he joined Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology where he was looking after its administrative affairs.
