Heavyweights in Mianwali

MIANWALI, Sept 13: Five people filed papers for the slot of district nazim and 13 for three tehsils nazims in the third phase of local elections. For the district nazim, nomination papers were filed by Provincial Revenue Minister Gul Hameed Khan Rokhri, former district nazim Humair Hayat Khan Rokhri, ex-MNA Haji Obaidullah Khan Shadikhel (Khidmat Ittehad), Haji Muhammad Azam Khan of the PML-N and Sardar Muhammad Bahadur Khan alias Babar Sawansi of Tehrik-i-Insaaf.

For Mianwali tehsil nazim, papers were filed by Haji Abdul Karim Sajid (Rokhri group), former district naib nazim Amjad Ali Khan (Khidmat Ittehad), ex-tehsil nazim Haji Khurshid Anwar Khan (independent), Chaudhry Akhtar Ali (independent) and Manzoor Ahmed Khan of PML-N.

For Piplan tehsil, Ghias Mehdi Khan (independent), ex-tehsil nazim Faqir Abdul Majeed Khan (Rokhri group) and Malik Feroze Joyia (Khidmat Ittehad) submitted nomination papers.

In Isakhel tehsil, candidates are Haji Shafaullah Khan Shadikhel (Khidmat Ittehad), ex-tehsil nazim Haji Muhammad Altaf Khan (independent), Muhammad Khan (independent), ex-provincial prison minister Abdul Rehman Khan alias Babli Khan (Rokhri group) and Abdul Hafeez Khan (independent). — Correspondent
