ABBOTTABAD: District police officer Javed Iqbal on Sunday suspended the SHO of Nathiagali police station and three constables and put them in the lockup for torturing a man on Saturday.

The police officer took the action soon after the news of the incident went viral on social media. He ordered action against Nathiagali police in-charge Javed, a head constable and two constables.

The police officials were suspended after initial inquiry and examination of the the victim, Farooq, a driver by profession, who bore torture marks on his body.

The DPO said exemplary punishment would be given to the policemen as an inquiry committee had been constituted to probe the incident.
