GUJRANWALA: Twelve more patients of Covid-19 lost their lives in the civil hospital, while 57 people tested positive for coronavirus in the Gujranwala region on Sunday.

The Gujranwala health services director, Dr Nusrat Ryaz, claimed that the intensity of Covid-19 had decreased in the region after imposition of the smart lockdown.

The 57 patients reported on Sunday included nine from Gujranwala city, 17 from Gujrat, 13 from Hafizabad, 16 Mandi Bahauddin and two Sialkot. The total number of Covid-19 cases in the region has crossed 7,000, 177 people have died and 3,268 recovered.

BAHAWALPUR: One more death and 14 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the district in the last 24 hours. The death toll from the disease has risen to 36 and confirmed cases here were 1,209 so far.

According to focal persons Dr Zakir Hussain, 52 patients of Covid-19 had recovered, raising the total number of recovered patients to 445 across the district.
