GILGIT: Three candidates from Gilgit-Baltistan have secured positions among the top 15 of Central Superior Services (CSS) competitive examinations 2019.

Total eight candidates from GB passed the CSS 2019 examinations and it is for the first time that three of them were among the top 15 position-holders.

Uzair Ali Khan, a graduate of LUMS who belongs to Ghanche district of GB, has secured third position in the CSS exams, and he was allocated a seat in Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) on the basis of all Pakistan merit.

Junaid Alam, also a LUMS graduate who belongs to Astore district, obtained 14th position in the country and was allocated a seat in PAS.

Mohammad Shahsawar Shareef, a graduate of NUST from Skardu district, clinched overall 15th position in the country and was allocated to Foreign Service of Pakistan (FSP). Mohammad Rehan Khan, a graduate of GIK Institute from Gilgit district, got 97th position and was allotted a seat in FSP.

Syed Imtiaz Hussain of Shigar district and a graduate of Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, secured 180th position and was allocated a seat in Pakistan Customs Service. Rana Abdul Basit of Astore district and a graduate of UET, Lahore, clinched 221st position and was sent to Inland Revenue Service.

Ali Ahmad of Gilgit district is a graduate of FAST and with his 270th position he secured a seat in Office Management Group. Adil Hussain of Nagar district is a graduate of Karachi University. He got 351st and a seat in OMG.

Junaid Alam, who secured 14th position, said the struggle he had started a few years ago ended on a high note for him. He said that the success in the civil service exams taught him to value self belief, perseverance, family, friends and luck more than ever.
