TAXILA: As many as 13 suspects were rounded up during a search operation launched by Taxila and Attock police on Monday.

Taxila circle Sub-divisional Police Officer DSP Tahir Kazmi while talking to newsmen here said the police carried out door to door search operation in Pind Gondal, Dhoke Sadu and Jameelabad area and verified data of 1,189 people were verified through Nadra.

He said during the search operation, police arrested as many as 11 persons. He said that during search operation, illegal weapons were also recovered.

He said that three persons were arrested for giving shelter to a proclaimed offender while narcotics were recovered from a drugs seller.

He said a shopkeeper was arrested for violating government SOP to limit coronavirus spread.

In Attock, the security was beefed up in the city and around sensitive defense installations to avert any untoward incident following the recent terrorist attack in Karachi. Police along with other sensitive and defense organisations also carried out flag operation around Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), Kamra.

Police also carried out door to door search operation in the limits of Attock Khurd police station and arrested two drugs sellers and recovered drugs from their possession.

Separately, Attock Saddar Police raided a gambling den and arrested five people while gambling besides seizing bet money, cell phone, motorcycles and other valuables.
