QUETTA, Sept 14: Iranian border authorities on Wednesday handed over bodies of three Pakistanis to levies officials in Taftan. The three were reportedly shot dead by Iranian forces in Chabar port area two days back when they were trying to go to Dubai illegally. Two men with bullet injuries, Sattar Khan and Anwar Shah, were also handed over to Pakistani authorities.

“We have received bodies of three Pakistani nationals on Taftan border from Iranian authorities,” Rasool Bakhsh, a levies official said. He said the deceased — Mishal Khan, Mohammad Anwar and Gul Mohammad — belonged to the NWFP. The bodies were sent to their towns.

“Iranian force opened indiscriminate fire on the Pakistanis who wanted to go to Dubai through Chabar,” one of the injured men told border officials.

Sources said Mishal Khan was a relative of the NWFP chief minister and he had crossed into Iran with four other people on Sept 8 from Mand town in Makran.
