KARACHI: The Sindh police and Pakistan Rangers on Tuesday agreed to enhance their coordination and information-sharing mechanism for effective performance to improve law and order in the province.

The director general of Rangers, Major General Umar Ahmad Bukhari, visited the Central Police Office (CPO) and met Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Mahar.

“The Rangers DG visited the memorial of martyrs [at CPO], laid flowers and offered fateha for the martyrs of Sindh police,” said a statement issued by the Sindh police.

“During the meeting with the IGP Sindh, Maj Gen Bukhari also paid tributes to the courage and bravery of police who had last month foiled a terrorist attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange,” it added.

He also paid tributes to the services of the martyred police officers, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, said the statement.

It added that IG Mahar thanked Maj Gen Bukhari for his visit to the CPO.

“The success against crime depends not only on the excellent and effective coordination and cooperation between the police, Rangers and other security agencies. The timely sharing of information and the systematic and joint action by the forces can lead to better results,” he said.
