TAXILA: A man was killed and two others were injured in separate incidents in Attock on Saturday.

Police said Azhar Iqbal and his brother Mazhar Iqbal were going to their land when their opponents hiding in the field opened fire on them in Dhoke Majhia village located in the limits of Fatehjang police.

As a result, Azhar died on the spot while Mazhar was injured critically and shifted to Holy Family Hospital.

According to the police, the reason behind the incident was an old dispute over a piece of land.

Separately, a man was shot by robbers when he resisted them in his house in Burhan, Hassanabdal.

Police said the armed men entered the house of Asim Khan by scaling the wall and made the family hostage. They searched the house and were taking away gold ornaments and Rs0.5 million cash when Mr Khan tried to overpower them.

The injured was taken to the THQ hospital from where he was shifted to Rawalpindi due to his critical condition.

This is the third house robbery in the area during the last one week.

Respective police have registered cases and started investigations.
