SWABI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Dr Sanaullah Abbasi has sought a report of the encounter in which Razaar DSP Allama Iqbal was martyred and two policemen were injured a few days ago. An outlaw was also killed.

Sources told Dawn on Saturday that district police officer Imran Shahid had been told to submit details of the incident, and in light of which, further action would be taken.

Meanwhile, the police claimed to have arrested Ameer Rehman, the son-in-law of the killed outlaw, Naseer Khan, as he was present at the scene when the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, DPO Imran Shahid has given DSP Topi Iftikhar Ali Khan the additional charge of DSP Razaar till the transfer of a new officer.

THREE KILLED: A teenage boy drowned in Pehur High Level Canal on Saturday.

The police said Ahmad Ali, who hailed from Risalpur, was bathing in the canal. Later, his body was recovered by Rescue 1122 and handed over to relatives.

In Sheikh Jana, Faramosh Khan was allegedly shot dead by rivals over an old enmity.

Police said the deceased had allegedly killed a member of the rival group about 15 years ago.

In the third incident, a man was killed and another injured when an ambulance taking a body from the Islamabad airport to Swat overturned near the Swabi interchange on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway.

The police said the ambulance driver failed to control the vehicle.
