HARIPUR: A land dispute claimed lives of a man and his son on Sunday.

Police quoted Dilshad Bibi, wife of Mohammad Zarin of Kalinjar village, as saying that she along with her husband, son Waqar Ahmed and sister-in-law Fozia Bibi was on way back home from a neighbouring village when Shah Nawaz, Irshad, Ramzan and three accomplices attacked them with axes.

She said the assailants also opened fire, killing Ahmed on the spot. She told police that she and her husband were injured, while Fozia remained unhurt.

The locals shifted the injured to the Haripur Trauma Centre, where doctors pronounced Zarin as dead.

The accused, who were first cousins of Zarin, had an old property dispute with the victim. The accused are still at large.
