LODHRAN: A missing minor boy was found dead in the fields here.

A five-year-old boy had gone missing on Friday evening while playing outside his house and was found dead on Saturday morning.

A resident of Chak 97/M, the father of the minor told police that his son had gone missing on Friday evening. They looked for him for a long time and even had announcements made from mosques, but failed to find him. On Saturday morning, the boy’s naked body was found in the nearby fields.

The victim’s parents believed their son was raped and killed, and demanded justice for him. Medical examination and post-mortem confirmed the suspicions of rape and murder.

A spokesman said police along with a forensics team visited the site and collected evidence, adding that the culprits will soon be arrested. A first information report was lodged and police started searching for the culprits.

TWO KILLED: A man and a woman were allegedly shot dead by unidentified armed men near Khokharabad Chowk, Khanewal on Sunday.

According to Rescue 1122, both died on the spot and the assailants fled from the scene.

The rescue team reached the spot and hand over the bodies to police. The deceased were identified as 35-year-old Shafeeq and 28-year-old Sajida Bibi.

According to a police spokesman, Khanewal District Police Officer Muhammad Ali Waseem took notice of the incident and directed police teams to trace the killers as soon as possible.
