Three held for assaulting boy in Skardu

GILGIT: Three persons have been arrested for assaulting a teenage boy in Skardu.

According to an application submitted to the police by father of the teenage boy, a resident of Gultori Skardu, three accused Muzafar Abbas, Mubarak Ali and Tajamul Hussain, also residents of Skardu, sexually assaulted his son multiple times during last six months.

The complainant father said the accused filmed the crime and used it to blackmail his son.

The father of the victim said his son had attempted suicide recently. He said they were shocked when they learned that their son was assaulted and blackmailed for several months.

He said his son was working in a vegetable shop in Skardu.

The victim’s father said the accused also physically tortured his son and extorted money from him by threatening to release the video clip on social media.

The police registered the case against the accused and arrested them on Sunday. They also recovered over 50 videos from the accused.

Meanwhile, GB caretaker Chief Minister Mir Afzal has directed the police chief to take all steps to ensure transparent and fair investigation into the matter.

The government of Gilgit-Baltistan has also formed a JIT on the incident.

According to the police, a 14-day physical remand of the accused had been taken from court to further investigate the case.
