ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Thursday announced the results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examination with girl students outnumbering boys in clinching the top positions.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year the exam could not be held and the results were prepared on the basis of last year’s 11th grade results with additional three percent marks in the 12th grade. The results were announced at a ceremony attended by Parliamentary Secretary Wajiha Akram and academicians.

FBISE Chairman Rao Atiq Ahmed informed the audience about the salient features of the results.

There were 71,482 enrolled students, out of whom 66,635 were declared pass with the passing percentage of 93.22.

In the pre-medical group, all the top three positions were clinched by Army Public School and College for Girls, Humayun Road, Rawalpindi Cantonment.

Saira Azhar of the college clinched the first position with 1,088 marks followed by Aneesha Rashid, 1,085 marks, and Mahnoor Fatima, 1,081 marks.

FBISE announces special exam from Oct 20 for students who are not satisfied with their results

In the pre-engineering group, Minahil Nadeem from Hamza Army Public School and College Stadium Road Rawalpindi was adjudged as the topper with 1,075 marks followed by Ayza Amer of the same college with 1,073 marks. The third position was shared by Mohammad Ahmed Mohsin of Punjab College of Science Blue Area Islamabad and Rakhmeen Gul of OPF Girls College F-8/2, Islamabad by getting 1,071 marks.

In the humanities group, Zainab Afzal from Public School and College, Jutial Gilgit, stood first with 1,000 marks followed by Haleema Gul from Islamabad Model College for Girls F-7/2 (second position) with 955 marks while the third position was bagged by Mohammad Hassan from Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel, Islamabad, with 983 marks.

In the science group general, the first position was shared by Hira of Askaria College Rawalpindi and Suman Asim of Pakistan International School Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, by getting 1,065 marks. The second position was clinched by Shifa Imran from Pak-Turk Maarif International School and College H-8 with 1,046 marks followed by Nimra Mushtaq from Bahria College Karachi with 1,036 marks.

In the commerce group, Khalid from Fauji Foundation College Rawalpindi Cant remained first by obtaining 997 marks, Said Ali from Pakistan International School, Doha, Qatar, second with 983 marks and Mahnoor Qaiser from Punjab College H-11/4 third with 980 marks.

The FBISE also announced to hold a special exam from October 20 with the last date of receiving admission forms August 20. All regular and private students who are not satisfied with their results announced on Thursday could appear in the special exam for which no fee would be charged. The candidates for improvement and compartments could also appear in the exam.
