SWABI: Eight people were killed and seven injured in different incidents here on Monday, said police.

Owais Khan of Jalsai village was killed on the spot when his motorcycle collided with another bike on Kund Park Road. Shahzad Khan, 19, a resident of Bamkhel village, who was seriously injured in the accident, died at the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex Shahmansoor.

A rickshaw and a motorcycle collided near Maini Chowk on Swabi-Topi Road, injuring Mohammad Tayyab, 20, of Gadoon Amazai region. He was shifted to Bacha Khan Hospital, where he died.

Sheroz Jackap, who belonged to Peshawar, drowned in the Indus River while bathing at Hund area. His body was fished out by divers.

Aminullah, who hailed from Tordher village, drowned in the Indus while beating the heat along with his friends.

Nadeem Khan belonging to Gohati village was seriously injured in a road incident, and later died in hospital.

Shabir Ahmad, a resident of Maneri village, was killed and his wife injured when the motorcycle they were riding skidded off the road and hit a roadside wall near Baja village.

In another incident, a man identified as Jawad Ali of Bamkhel village was killed in a road accident.

Abdullah, 20, and Mohammad Zeb, 18, were seriously injured when their motorcycles had a head-on collision on Swabi-Mardan Road near Mansafdar.

The Rescue 1122 officials shifted them to a hospital in Mardan.

In Adina village, two motorcyclists, Mohammad Ali Umar, 20, and Irshad Umer, 21, were injured in separate accidents.

In another incident, two people were injured in an accident involving motorcycles on Swabi-Mardan Road.
