KARACHI: The Vice Chancellor of Newports Institute of Communication and Economics Huma Bukhari on Tuesday announced that her institution will fully support and promote sports and sportspersons and she is also writing to the HEC to bring Information Technology, Education and Sports on the same page for the country to produce competent all round professionals.

She stated this on the occasion of Newports Institute signing an MoU with Shamsi Tennis Academy for the promotion of tennis. Huma further said that she is proud of the fact that her institution will be participating in making tennis a popular sport in the country.

Pakistan Tennis Federation’s Vice President Khalid Jamil Shamsi said on the occasion that PTF under the able guidance of its president Salim Saifullah is leaving no stone unturned to promote tennis and tennis across the country. “PTF as well as my academy is making every effort to impart tennis coaching and promote the sport at every level. For this purpose talented Nameer Shamsi has been handed the task to coach as many players and officials as possible,” said Khalid Shamsi.

Also present on the occasion were SOA Vice Chairman Asif Azeem, Directors Newports Institute Sameer Shamsi and Zeerak Bukhari, SOA vice presidents Waseem Hashmi, Tehmina Asif, KBBA president Ghulam Mohammad and Nameer Shamsi.
