SWABI: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar has said that over 150,000 saplings would be planted during the current tree plantation campaign in Swabi as part of the Clean and Green Pakistan initiative.

Talking to mediapersons here the other day, he stressed that every citizen should play their role in the plantation drive to help overcome the impact of environmental pollution.

He said the recent environmental changes had made it compulsory for the world community to run a result-oriented campaign for establishing a pollution-free society.

“To reduce worst environmental impact on the people we should plant more and more trees.” Mr Qaisar said.

Talking about Indian attempts to have Pakistan placed in the FATE grey list, he said New Delhi had continued with its designs to get Pakistan blacklisted, but the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government’s result-oriented steps had foiled its attempts.

He said the Indian government had used all its links and sources to push Pakistan into hot waters. He said the timely legislation would help Pakistan come up to the expectations of the FATF requirements.

Answering a question, he said the government had fulfilled all its international obligations because it was a responsible country.
