WANA: A brigadier and three soldiers were wounded in a suicide attack in the Ladha area of South Waziristan tribal district on Tuesday.

Officials said that the officer of 24 Mechanised Brigade was going from Makeen to Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan district, when a suicide bomber blew himself up close to his vehicle near Badar bridge, leaving the brigadier and three soldiers wounded.

The injured personnel were shifted to Wana in a helicopter.

Officials said that members of security forces rushed to the scene of the attack and started a search operation to look for elements behind the assault.

The Inter-Services Public Relations did not respond to request for comments on the incident.
