Posthumous Nishan-i-Imtiaz for Sadequain, Ahmad Faraz

KARACHI: President Arif Alvi on Friday allowed grant of civil awards to 184 Pakistanis and foreign nationals for showing excellence and courage in their respective fields.

Renowned painter late Sadequain, iconic Sufi singer Abida Parveen and late poet Ahmad Faraz are among the recipients of Nishan-i-Imtiaz, while actors Talat Hussain and Bushra Ansari and late cricketer Abdul Qadir are among the recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

Chinese billionaire and co-founder of Alibaba Jack Ma will be given Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam for his services to Pakistan.

According to a press release, the awards, announced on Pakistan’s Independence Day, will be conferred on the recipients at an investiture ceremony to be taken place on the Pakistan Day i.e. March 23, 2021.

President Alvi announced the grant of Nishan-i-Imtiaz to six persons, Hilal-i-Imtiaz to two, Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam to one person, Sitara-i-Pakistan to two persons, Sitara-i-Khidmat to one person, Tamgha-i-Pakistan to one and Tamgha-i-Quaid-i-Azam to one person.
