KARACHI: The Polo Ground roundabout that underwent restoration work carried out by JS Bank has been inaugurated on Independence Day.
The roundabout was inaugurated by DG Rangers Major General Omar Ahmed Bokhari as part of Independence Day celebrations.
Senior officials from JS Bank and Pakistan Rangers headquarters were present at the event.
The roundabout has been restored as part of the bank’s “commitment to beautify Karachi city through placement of visually pleasing and aesthetically appealing monuments”, a press release issued here said.
Major General Bokhari expressed his appreciation for the bank for its corporate social responsibility.
“Pakistan is our responsibility, and we each need to embrace our role as active members of the society in order for it to grow.”
Speaking on the occasion, Basir Shamsie, president and CEO of JS Bank, said: “A city as progressive and vital as Karachi deserves our collective efforts to maintain its historic beauty. The restoration of this landmark is our way of giving back to the community and our fellow citizens. I would especially like to thank Major General Omar sahib for his support in making this initiative a success.”
