TAXILA: A woman along with her two daughters died while her son was injured during an accident on Islamabad - Peshawar motorway (M-1) near Jallo, in the jurisdiction of Hassanabdal Police Station on Tuesday.

According to sources in National Highway and Motorway Police, the family was travelling to Peshawar when the woman’s son, identified as Mohammad Junaid, lost control of the vehicle due to a tyre burst, a few kilometres away from the Burhan interchange.

The car skidded off the road and crashed into an electric pole. The woman and her daughters died on the spot.

District Emergency Officer Dr Ishfaq Mian told Dawn that soon after the accident, Rescue 1122 began an operation and the injured along with the deceased were shifted to THQ hospital, Hassanabdal.

Hassanabdal police registered a case and initiated further investigation.
