He was addressing a public gathering, where former provincial education minister Maulana Fazal Ali, Maulana Attaul Haq Darvaish, JUI-F president for merged districts Maulana Mufti Abdul Shakoor and others were also present.

Mr Atta said Israel had posed a serious threat to the Muslim world because the US had nurtured it for protecting its interests in the volatile but strategically important Middle Eastern region.

“The Americans are achieving their objectives in the Middle East under a well-planned strategy. Keeping in mind the dire situation there is need for unity among the Islamic countries,” he urged.

Attaur Rehman said the US and its allies had been hatching conspiracies against the Muslims. He alleged that the ruling party and its leaders had flagrantly violated all democratic norms and targeted the opposition though different tactics.
