36 laws passed in two years enforced, meeting told

QUETTA: A meeting presided over by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani was informed on Tuesday that the Balochistan government paid full attention to legislation on different issues to protect economic, political and constitutional rights of the province and its people during the past two years.

It was informed that 36 bills moved by the government and pas­s­ed by the provincial assembly had been enforced in the province.

The meeting discussed legislation, constitutional, political and economic issues.

Official sources said the meeting expressed satisfaction over the current situation and the steps taken by the government for implementation of development projects and resolving problems being faced by the people.

The meeting observed that the government made record legislation on important provincial issues over the past two years.

It agreed that the coalition government was taking all measures that were in the wider interest of the province and protection of rights and resources of Balochistan.

The meeting was told that the government’s first priority was to make extensive changes in old laws as well as make new laws, which was a primary responsibility of parliament.

“We have been utilising our energies to protect and secure the rights of Balochistan,” Mr Alyani said.

Provincial ministers Mir Asad Baloch, Noor Mohammad, Mir Zahoor Buledi, Arif Jan Mohammad Hasani, Mir Saleem Khosa, Tariq Magsi and Metha Khan Kakar, Parli­a­mentary Secretary Masood Luni, Abdul Rashid Baloch, Danesh Kumar and members of the Baloc­histan Assembly Mir Gohram Bugti and Abdul Qadir Nayal also attended the meeting.
