RAWALPINDI: A police official was suspended on charges of allegedly manhandling a motorcyclist near Tarnol on Friday, police said adding that inquiry into the incident was also ordered.

The move came about after a video surfaced on social media wherein a police driver, while he was escorting a convoy, manhandled a motorcyclist. Shortly after the incident came to light, City Police Officer Ahsan Younis ordered an investigation, which led to suspension of the driver, identified as Ishtiaq Ahmed.

A police spokesman said that SSP (operations) was appointed as an inquiry officer by the CPO to investigate the real circumstances of the incident.
