KARACHI: As many as 509 players and officials, who secured positions in the previous editions of the Sindh Game and performed outstandingly, have registered their names for the awards ceremonies which have been planned by the Sindh Games Association (SGA) for later this month as well as in October and November.

Players, athletes and officials from across the Sindh province including Karachi, Larkana, Benazirabad, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Hyderabad and other cities have given a tremendous response to the SGA registration campaign that concluded on Tuesday.

The first awards ceremony will be held in Karachi in the last week of September and then in other in five different major cities of the province including Larkana, Benazirabad, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur and Hyderabad respectively.

Mudassar Razzaq Arain, President, Sindh Games Association, said that SGA had anno­unced to distribute awards among the leading players and officials from the last 17 editions of Sindh Games and the big success of the registration campaign proves that SGA’s sincere efforts have been tremendously acknowledged.

He said the 509 players and officials who have registered themselves include those who won gold, silver and bronze medals besides the officials who performed well in all the 17 Games.

“This will be the first ever time that award ceremonies of this scale will be held in all the leading cities of Sindh, mainly to acknowledge the contribution of the hardworking players and officials and to encourage them for the future events,” said Mudassar in a statement on Wednesday.

He said that rehearsals will also be held in this regard for three days before the event, in Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas in October while in Benazirabad, Larkana and Sukkur in November.
