LAHORE: Services Institute of Medical Sciences Vice Principal Prof Dr Waris Farooqa has proposed the establishment of a medical commission to probe the allegations of creating fake medical reports of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif during his treatment at the hospital.
Talking to the media at the Services Hospital along with Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr Farooqa denied the allegations that the hospital or any of its doctors was involved in generating fake reports of Nawaz Sharif.
“All the reports on the health status of Nawaz Sharif were based on facts and we have complete record in this regard to present to any relevant forum if and when required,” he stressed.
He suggested that his hospital was ready for the confirmation of the test reports through DNA tests.
Dr Ahmad said that when the former prime minister was under treatment at the hospital, he had undergone many tests. Sharif’s health had improved when he was discharged from the hospital, he said while denying allegations of generating fake reports.
The MS also made it clear that the administrative officials had no authority to decide about discharging any patient from the hospital and instead it was the treating doctors who could do so.
Meanwhile, he also said that a mafia was involved in corruption in the hospital and the administration had referred the matter to the anti-corruption department for registration of cases against it.
